Acacia Farnesiana Flower Wax comes from the acacia plant species. According to a 2005 review in the International Journal of Toxicology, this ingredient has been reported to function as an astringent in cosmetic formulations—meaning it may help tighten or tone the skin by causing slight contraction of skin tissues. However, the safety assessment for Acacia Farnesiana Flower Wax remains incomplete. The extensive safety testing that exists for Acacia senegal (a different acacia species, also called gum arabic) cannot be reliably applied to Acacia Farnesiana Flower Wax because they are different species with different chemical compositions.
