The available research focuses on its potential medical application in ulcerative colitis, an inflammatory bowel disease. #1: Researchers labeled acetaminosalol with technetium-99m (a radioactive isotope) to track where it travels in the body. The labeling process achieved a 98.9% yield, meaning nearly all of the acetaminosalol was successfully tagged with the radioactive marker (J Labelled Comp Radiopharm, 2024). #2: The compound shows affinity for PPAR-gamma receptors—cellular structures involved in regulating inflammation—based on computer modeling studies (J Labelled Comp Radiopharm, 2024). #3: In animal studies with ulcerative colitis, acetaminosalol microspheres (particles with a mean size of about 201 micrometers) accumulated in the colon at levels of 56.5% within 4 hours, suggesting the formulation could preferentially deliver the compound to inflamed tissue (J Labelled Comp Radiopharm, 2024).
