Camellia oleifera seed oil (often called tea seed oil) has a well-characterized composition that makes it interesting for skincare. The oil’s fatty acid profile is dominated by oleic acid, ranging from 52–87% depending on the source and extraction method, with smaller amounts of stearic and palmitic acids (Adv Pharm Bull, 2017; J Oleo Sci, 2025).
