Source 1 (Analyst, 2022) examines 3,4-dihydroxybenzoic acid as a component of laboratory imaging technology. Researchers combined it with titanium dioxide particles to create a matrix for MALDI mass spectrometry imagingβ€”a technique used to visualize and detect small molecules in plant tissue samples. In this highly technical context, the 3,4-DHB-TiO2 composite showed low background noise and high sensitivity for detecting compounds in medicinal plants. This is purely a laboratory analytical tool, not a skincare ingredient.
